The CDCU InstituteTM - 2010 dates now available! Click this link for more information and to access our 2010 brochure! Launched in 1999, the Institute is a three-year professional development program for CDCU staff and board officials. The CDCU InstituteTM is the only program of it's type dedicated to the specific needs and issues surrounding CDCUs. If you currently serve low-income or minority populations, or are considering an expansion into an underserved area, then the CDCU InstituteTM is for you! The Institute grants a certificate in CDCU management upon graduation.

Online Training Programs - Since early 2008, the Federation has begun to offer online training programs for credit union staff and officials on a variety of topics of importance to credit unions serving low-income communities.
-
Credit Union Development Corps - The Federation and the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) jointly launched the Credit Union Development Corps, to help credit unions make a bigger impact in low-income communities. Credit Union Development Educators (known as CUDEs, or more simply as DEs) will visit CDCUs for up to two weeks, during which time they will have the opportunity to learn how these innovative institutions are able to effectively serve their low-income members with limited resources and staff. Conversely, a representative from participating CDCUs will then spend one to two weeks at the DE’s institution learning about their programs and operations.
-
Affordable Mortgage Lending Seminars - The Federation's first Affordable Mortgage Lending Seminar was held in December of 2006, and were created with the idea of encouraging credit unions of all sizes to enter the mortgage business. Industry experts help to teach credit unions the ins and outs of mortgage programs. To see presentations from the 2008 workshop please, click here.
